NPSC CHATS A WAY FORWARD

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has completed the recruitment of a new CEO and the respective directors who will steer the operations of the institution.

According to the NPSC Chairperson Mr. Johnston Kavuludi, the Commission intends to turn a new leaf after the recruitment process which was done through an open and competitive process.

 

Addressing a quarterly staff meeting at the Commission's offices, the Chairperson was optimistic that all measures were in place for the delivery of the Commission's Strategic goals.

 

The NPSC CEO Joseph Onyango gave the priority areas for the Commission as being:-
1. Discipline and Order
2. Systems and Procedures
3. Leverage on Technology
4. Improving on the image of the Commission by defining its Culture and as a working team

 

He said the recruitment process for other positions within the Commission was still ongoing and promised that it would be fair, open and transparent. He called for teamwork, dedication and accountability from all staff in order to deliver on the NPSC Mandate.

  CEO   

Mr. Joseph Vincent Onyango
Commission Secretary / CEO

Mr. Onyango holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Development, a Higher Diploma in Human Resources and an Undergraduate in Sociology. Mr. Onyango has a comprehensive industry experience in Organizational Development, Leadership and Strategic Management. Before joining the Commission, he was the Director, Establishment and Management Consultancy Services at the Public Service Commission.
Presently as the Secretary to the Commission, The CS/CEO is responsible for; acting on the decisions of the Commission; the implementation of the functions of the Commission; the formulation and development of an efficient administration; the organization, control and management of the members of staff of the Commission; day-to-day administration and management of the affairs of the Commission; the performance of such other duties as may
be assigned by the Commission.

Mr. Longinus Mulondo;
Director - Strategy, Research & Vetting
Mr. Mulondo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Security Management from Egerton University, a Diploma in Security and Strategic Studies from University of Nairobi and Diploma in Communication and Media from Multimedia University. He has over twenty eight (28) years of experience in public service in management of security operations and strategic planning.

Mr. Patrick Odongo
Director, Communication & Outreach
Mr. Odongo is a holder of a Masters Degree in Communication Studies and Bachelors Degree (HONS) in Journalism and Media Studies both from University of Nairobi. He also holds a Diploma in Journalism from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. He has over 26 years experience in the civil service and previously served in Kericho, Embu,Teso and Mt. Elgon Districts in various capacities. He had served as Manager / Communications at NPSC before his appointment as Director Communications and Outreach.

Mrs. Christine Rotich
Director, Human Capital Management
Mrs. Christine Rotich holds an Executive M.B.A. from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology(JKUAT), a Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management and a BA (History and Government) from University of Nairobi. She has over 27 years’ experience in the public service and has served on various government ministries which include, Office of the President, Ministry of Health, Cabinet Affairs office and the Judges and Magistrate Vetting Board

Kinama

Jonam Ngau Kinama
Director, Corporate Support Services
Mr. Kinama holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and a Bachelors of Arts Anthropology from the University of Nairobi. He has over 25 years experience in the civil service and previously served as District Officer and Senior District Officer in various parts of the country. He also served as Under Secretary and Deputy Secretary in various Ministries before his appointment as the Director, Corporate Support Services at National Police Service Commission

 

Other appointments included; Nancy Muchangi - Deputy Director Vetting; Stephen Mbogo - Deputy Director Strategy and George Okinda - Deputy Director Human Capital Management
