NPSC Leads Support for Transforming Police Stations into Centers of Excellence

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has pledged full support for Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja’s efforts to combat corruption and transform police stations into centers of excellence for police operations.

Speaking during a high-level engagement meeting convened by the Inspector General at the Administration Police Training College (APTC) in Embakasi, NPSC CEO Peter Leley reiterated the Commission’s commitment to fostering integrity and professionalism within the Service. The meeting, which brought together top police commanders and officials from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), focused on strengthening anti-corruption measures within the police service.

“The Commission is fully behind the IG’s vision to transform police stations into centers of excellence for police operations. We also remain fully committed to the fight against corruption, which has continued to bedevil the Service undermining service delivery and public trust,” said Leley.

As part of the ongoing reforms, the NPSC is reviewing the police training curriculum to incorporate courses on integrity and ethical leadership. Additionally, Leley revealed that the Commission is re-evaluating the police recruitment model to ensure a corruption-free process, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability from entry into the Service.
