The Commission has successfully concluded a three day Higher Training Course (HTC) and Senior Training Course (STC) promotional interviews exercise at the DCI Academy in Nairobi, to determine the promotion of Chief Inspectors of Police (CIP) to the rank of Assistant Superintend of Police (ASP).
A total of 98 CIP were interviewed, out of which 86 were males and 12 females. Two Chief Inspectors of Police were PHD holders while several others had Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates.
The interviews followed after all the officers completed a six months leadership and management training course HTC for Kenya Police, and STC for Administration Police Service in their respective Colleges.
The Commission through Promotion and Transfer Committee headed by Commissioner Eusebius Laibuta conducts the interviews to assess whether the Officers can interpret and apply leadership and management skills acquired in readiness of the responsibilities to manage and supervise police sub counties and companies.
HTC/STC is a level seven Superintend of Police course that equips Police Officers with fundamental aspects of management to strategically steer police departments under their Leadership to excellence.
The Kenya Police Service (KPS) officers are trained at the National Police College in Kiganjo while Administration Police Service (APS) officers are trained at the National Police Senior Staff College in Emali.
