The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) strongly condemns the unfortunate incident that occurred at Duka Moja trading center along the Narok-Nairobi road, where police officers, our valued employees of the Service, were injured, and livestock lives lost. While the circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, no situation justifies harming security enforcement officers who responded to help the community.
We issue a stern warning to members of the public that harming law enforcement officers is seriously prohibited by law. Such acts undermine not only the rule of law but also the peace and security of our nation.
It is important to emphasize that police officers are permitted by law to use force only in circumstances where it is necessary to protect life and property, including when in imminent danger.
The Commission wish all the injured police officers quick recovery and urge the Inspector General to ensure that the affected officers receive appropriate and timely support through the existing insurance cover and welfare services.
