Edwin Cheluget

Biography

Mr. Edwin Cheluget brings a wealth of experience to his role as a Commissioner of the National Police Service Commission, having been appointed by the president on May 3, 2023. His oath of office was administered by Chief Justice Hon. Martha Koome on May 9, 2023, at the Supreme Court of Kenya.

Cheluget’s career spans both private and public sectors, including notable roles such as Speaker of the Nandi County Assembly and board member for several parastatals. He is currently serving as a member of the Tax Appeal Tribunal at The Judiciary.

An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over a decade of legal practice, Cheluget is also a member of the Law Society of Kenya. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Moi University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. Additionally, he has participated in specialized training on policy and legislation drafting organized by various institutions.

At NPSC, Commissioner Cheluget heads the Appeals, Policy, and Legal Affairs (APLA) Committee.
